Also, mind how you’re doing it! I often get asked ‘How often should I Exfoliate my skin?’ The answer is, it really does depend on your skin condition (skin type is what you’re born with, your skin condition will be affected by climate, stress levels, medication or illness and products use)

You can also opt for a physical or chemical exfoliator, and the chemical option won’t reduce you to discomfort or redness, on the contrary fellow skin enthusiasts it’s usually the better option. What?! I hear you say... but stay with me, I’m getting to the good bit. You might be surprise to read that in fact a chemical exfoliator is usually better for sensitive or irritated skin conditions, and the reason is just that, it has a chemical reaction rather than a physical one. So by opting for an exfoliator without granules but with polishing ingredients such as lactic acid, salicylic acid and natural fruit enzymes like bromelain and papain to name a few, these ingredients work their natural magic whilst simply resting on the skin, unlike a physical exfoliator which removes built up skin cells with the granular ingredients and act of physically polishing the skin which causes friction.
What it does: Exfoliation removes dead, dulling skin debris to prevent congestion and improve hydration from toners and moisturisers.
Don’t forget: After you exfoliate, follow with a hydrating cream option to seal in moisture, and always shield freshly exfoliated skin with an SPF.
